Great Response to Flint River Ranch Dog Food
Several Westie lovers have already ordered
Flint River Ranch Dog Food. It appears to be a very good natural food and we have really been pleased. It is a little pricey, but it does not have all the preservatives,
chemicals, and dyes that the store brands have because they have a shelf life of 12-14 months. Flint River Ranch is delivered to your door, straight from the ovens. The cost of 20lb Lamb Meal, Millet Rice Dog Kibble is $38.49 plus tax (shipping included). I would appreciate it if you use Distributor #123045 when you purchase.
Please give us feedback on how your dog is adjusting to the change. |

With the coming of Springtime, it is very important that we
all get back to the street. It was easy during winter to be slack in your exercise and therefore, your Westies don't get exercise either. I have been on crutches for a couple weeks with a ruptured blood vessel in my leg so we are way behind getting back to those late afternoon walks with Chloe, Darby, and Paris. But, soon, we are getting back to it. Don't overlook the need for Westie exercise! |

Angels' Eyes Tear-Stain Eliminator
The pH of the dog's saliva is also believed to be important. Since water as well as diet may play a role in such staining, a change to filtered water may help. Sometimes if the nails are too long a dog will lick on the paws and gnaw on the nails. Of course, the licking and saliva cause staining on the paws. If the hair between the paw pads gets long, they will lick their paw pads as well. A product called Angels' Eyes Tear-Stain Eliminator for Dogs is marketed as the best solution for facial stains in dogs. Originally designed for tear stains, it advertises that it also removes beard stains and stains from licking paws. It is added to the food or water. <<MORE>> |

Vaccinations
There have been a lot of discussions in the last year about vaccinations and over-vaccinations. Some vets are saying that you should go ahead and give 3 puppy shots beginning around 10 weeks. Others say you should give shots at 12 weeks and no more. There are others who continue to give more vacinations than studies say are needed. There are even challenge studies related to Rabies and the proof is that dogs do not need Rabies shots as often as is required by states. Your adult Westie should probably not be receiving annual vaccines like you have been accustomed to. Be sure to express your questions to your vet.

Tick Removal
Do you believer everything you hear? Well, I haven't had opportunity to check this one out, but here we go.
I heard that you can remove a tick from your body or your pet's body by doing the following:
Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and swab it for a few seconds (15-20), and the tick will come out on its own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away.
If you find a tick on you or your pet and you try this, be sure to let me know if it works! |
