3.  Lost Westie in Brentwood, TN area!

1.  Francie Has A Litter of Five!

We got two surprises with Francie's litter of pups.  First, she had her pups between 8:30 and 11:30 AM on Saturday.  Over the years we have had only one other litter whelped in the daytime.  Usually they are born in the wee hours of the night.  I always lose a night's sleep regardless, because I always spend the night (s) with the expectant mom.  Second, she surprised us with a fifth pup.  The X-ray had shown 4 pups so we were delighted and surprised when #5 was born.  All of her pups are already booked. Three of the females go to Karen in FL, Martha and Mike in GA, and Sabrina in TN.  The other female and male pups go to live with Veronica and Tan in IL.  We will not breed Francie for another year. Within a week, the pups have already doubled their birth weight.  Mom and pups are all doing great.

2.  Beware of Retractable Leashes!

Flexi 26 Foot Comfort Grip Retractable Leash For Med Dogs  Last month we received an email from someone looking for a pup and told us a heart breaking story!  The husband had been walking their adult Westie using a retractable leash.  A loud truck came down the street and their Westie ran out after the truck (he had never done that before) and was tragically killed.  This is the second such incident we have heard of in the last year.  We suggest you train your Westie to walk beside you, on a 5' or 6' leash with a harness.  A frightened or determined Westie can slip out of a collar, but cannot slip out of a harness.  We hear tragic stories all the time and just wanted to pass the warning along to you.

3.  Lost Westie in Brentwood, TN area!

Sherry's Westie was picked up by someone on August 23 in the Belle Rive area, Brentwood, TN.  She is a female, 5 years old, and weighs 20 pounds.  She is not micro-chipped.

Sweetie

She has her "summer cut" and was not wearing a collar at the time of her disappearance.  She is afraid of anyone wearing a cap or hat, but is sweet, friendly, and loves to go "bye-bye" in a car.  We are offering a $5,000 reward - no questions asked.

If you know of someone in your area that has recently gotten an adult Westie, please inquire;  she may have been sold to an unsuspecting family.  If this is the case, in addition to the reward, we will gladly purchase another Westie for them because she is our beloved family pet and is irreplaceable.  Please call 615-772-3199.  Any way you can help will be greatly appreciated. ~ Sherry
