Christmas is always a special time! A busy time! A family time! This is one time of year when the world is reminded that God in love and mercy came to us in the form of a baby to seek and to save the lost. Hope entered a world of darkness. Joy entered a world of sorrow. There is probably no better opportunity all year to present Jesus to people than Christmas time. Even some of the hardened hearts seem a little more open. Luke
2 1Today
in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ
the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a
manger." 2. Chloe's New Litter!
3. Gigi's New Litter!
4. Darby Is King!
5. Westie Rescue! People involved in Westie Rescue deserve our thanks! Animal rescue has been brought to the forefront mainly because of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Louisiana Westie Rescue is an organization dedicated to providing medical needs and adoption services for abandoned, abused, and neglected West Highland White Terriers. They come from homes that can no longer care for them for various reasons, shelters, and puppymill situations. The stories have been very moving as many people have been involved in rescue as well as making way for all of the animals that have been placed in various locations awaiting their owners. Many of these pets will never be claimed. Thanks to all of those who have tirelessly given their time as well as funds for this purpose. Others are involved in rescuing animals from Puppy Mills. Some Pet Stores purchase pups from brokers that deal with breeders who breed dogs for the express purpose of "profit". Did You Ever Wonder Where Your Dog Really Came From? I Did! This moving story by Kim White shares her own "Rescue Angel" drama and the rescue of Westies from a PuppyMill. 6. Shop Now For Christmas! Don't forget your Westie will be expecting a gift for Christmas. LookAtMyDog.com offers a "Pet Mall" approach to shopping with a multitude of upscale pet products as well as affordable pet supplies, all at your fingertips. You can sniff around and select your favorite pet products with the categories or shop by store to find exactly what you are looking for. More... 7. Featured Products!
8. Westies With Atopic Dermatitis! The Canine Health Foundation of the AKC is funding a study at North Carolina State University with dogs that have Atopic Dermatitis (AD). Especially common among Westies, it is a condition that makes the dog miserable. If you have a Westie that has AD, you may be invited to participate in the study. Down South Westies has been very blessed with a very healthy breedline. We have been invited to participate in order to present a healthy breedline for study along with affected Westies. Maybe our dogs can help in the study to isolate the gene that causes AD. If you would like to participate, contact me and I will see that you get the necessary forms. There is no charge for the study. You may be asked to go to your vet for your dog's blood work. This study could prove to be very helpful to those bloodlines that are affected by allergies. I would like to encourage you to participate. Let me hear from you by contacting me at thomas@downsouthwesties.com .
